Free market do-tank team proves successful in the private schools business

For years Professor James Tooley and the Edwin G. West Centre at Newcastle University has been championing the idea of low cost private education for the worlds poor  But today, the leaders of one British free market do-tank are successfully turning the idea into a reality for Londoners of humble means.

The New Model School  in Kensal Town is owned and run by Civitas   Charging less than £4,000 annually it not only aims to bring high quality education within the reach of most middle income parents but it is based on a business plan that should deliver its replication many times over in the years ahead. Significantly, while the school is only in its first year it is already oversubscribed for the next three years
