David Davis

Here’s a trailer:-

He was still a murderer, and your T-shirt is definitely as uncool as I have always said it is. But you could wear it to show how stupid you are, also to indicate how very little research you have actually done, and how much you absolutely support Hollywood’s rendition of history. Like “Braveheart” for instance. (Read down to the lower parts of the wikipage to see where those things euphemistically labelled as “innaccuracies” creep in…)

That's better, that's more like it, see if you can pick up a St Hilda's chick while wearing that.

  1. According to Humberto Fontova, the big question is ‘How did such a dreadful bore, incurable doofus, sadist and epic idiot attain such iconic status? ‘

Do you think they show him wimpering for his life or sadistically killing teen-agers?

  2. I think the latter, but I have not seen the “movie”.

Wonder if they’ll ever make a movie of Stalin…here are suggested titles they could use:-

    “Man Of Steel”
    “Leader, my leader”
    “Pray to be Hard”
    “Great Redeemer”

    Or of Mao-tse-Tung:-

“Tell that pretty little girl to bring me some tea….”

  3. Dave:

‘I meant (what he really said, often):-

“Tell that very, very pretty little girl to bring me some tea, right now, or else.”’

Totalitarian dictators don’t usually say “Or else…” It’s implicit, not explicit.

(Mickelthwait mode: ON: “Citation, please!” Mickelthwait mode: OFF).

Are you sure you’re not thinking of Nadia Comaneci, who had it explained to her that her place on the Romanian Olympics Gymnastics Team depended on her providing “gymnastic services” to Nico Ceaucescu, the dictator’s son?

    Best,

    Tony

  4. Tony:
I know that he would not have said “or else”.

But here, this blog is no longet talking to itself…we are reaching out to others who do not know this basic stuff. I want totalitarian dictators dead, all of them, and soon. Not to be replaced. If I talk like Sir Paul dacre sometimes, that is because he knows how to influence poeple.

Hope you are well…happy new 2009, coming to you and us soon, unfortunately for all of us!
    DD

  5. You see, I want to ram home, with mud and shit on the bloody point, the sheer wickedness of totalitarian dictators (and their philosophers.)

I want them dead. That is why I blog. it costs me time and money but I will go on, and on, and on, like The Lady (did.)

  6. That there shows how ignorant and stupid you are how about you do some research on your presidents and how many people have been killed and tortured all over the world??

  7. Well said pablo maybe he would like to condemn all our world war veterans aswell, for the things they had to do during war

  8. I am not a defender of Che’s brutal actions or the horrific unintended consequences of his actions. However, Murray Rothbard, who you have included in the logo for your blog, wrote a obituary for Che Guevara praising him as a “heroic figure,” and “the living embodiment of the principle of Revolution.” Rothbard also claimed Che had a “mighty heart” and “daring courage.” Strangely enough Rothbard also states that Che’s “enemy was our enemy.” I think it is worth a look, and it is hosted on the Mises Institute’s website. Just a second opinion on the man.

  9. Biggest bunch of propaganda as I’ve seen in my life.

I suppose for your next trick, you will show a disparaging photo of the evil Churchill along with the names of 40,000 refugees who were seeking refuge in Dresden, put to flight by the Red Army as it steamrolled from the east? Some 900,000 refugees flooded into Dresden from locations east of Germany, and not all of them were Germans. And coward Churchill, like his cowardly attack on Finland for daring to stand up to Russia in 1939, decided he was going to be the manly man and fire bomb 900,000 refugees?

That’s really brilliant. Whose side are you on? You obviously are trying to help exterminate the human race. No wonder you are anti-semitic.

    • Clearly, you are either winding people up here, or else you think Ernesto Guevara was a great human being.

As to Dresden, you had better ask Uncle Joe Stalin what he wanted with the destruction of this city. Perhaps he thought he’d find the repatriation of all those refugees after the war, “inconvenient”. You’d also better ask “Bomber” Harris if he really wanted to “do” Dresden. I think you’ll find that he didn’t.

Please let me know the name and address of your lawyer. He will find mine sitting opposite him, and you, on the next available business day.

I do hope that you will enjoy the experience.

  10. That is weird. Looking at the side bar I see various comments. I tried the link mentioned by Just Passing By and it goes to an article which is obviously written in a style and sense that is completely contrary to Mises but is at their website?
    How does that work?

  11. Just passing by as well. Couldn’t help but notice the ignorance revealed in the comments here, ignorance about the historical Che, the revolution, or, frankly, anything that even remotely smells like historical fact. Talk about smelling a troll…all I smell here is bullshit…a few people that push their way through life without any education to speak of or any respect for facts and truth…thinking somehow that simply because they think it to be true it therefore is. It would really be interesting to see how you would react if you were to research what the U.S. has done against Latin America and Mexico in the past century…talk about innocent victims at the hands of CIA thugs and Reagan mercenaries…far more than the lives of the U.S. supported mercenaries that eventually murdered Che.
But I need not try to convince you, for fools cannot be convinced regardless of how many facts. Fools!

  12. Difficult to know your point exactly except you feel personally threatened in terms of your world view.
Socialist economies tend towards deprivation and starvation if not bailed out by economies running more along capitalist lines.
It happened to the Soviet Union.
It will happen to Venezuela (and the US on current trend) just now if things go on long enough, despite the oil wealth.
But cheap-shot-politics does not get to the truth. There is also an unholy alliance between socialism and corporate big business. Both are forms of controlled economies. Corporate big business is not capitalism, wherein it is possible for human enterprise and initiative to drive genuine wealth generation.
    You cannot legislate hope.

  13. Dissentus clearly is quite sure that Se[n]or Ernesto Guevara was a humane and decent man.

    This can be debated.

And so, although I am not entirely sure that the fellow was nothing more than a spoilt posturing middle-class faux-medical-student and murdering mountebank, I am fairly sure that a mass debate encompassing The People of the countries he tried to “liberate” will come out with support for my motion.

  14. John,

no matter how big a business, it could always be challenged by up-starts in a free market

unfortunately, no such thing exists on this planet

every country on earth has barriers to innovation and competition that fall under 3 major categories

ordered according to typical stages of progress, they are:

    1) a lack of protection from thuggish coercion by businesses/gangs/cartels/churches/etc..

    2) intervention by the state to directly control the market, often at the request of the public, or at least with sincere good intent

    3) establishing complex lobbying and litigation systems that unfairly favor wealthy interests, enabling them to reshape the law at will in response to challenges in the market

that system is the basis of various tools that can be used to formally stifle competition, such as:

patents, copyright as applied to technical data, and anti-reverse-engineering provisions in various laws allow mega-corps to categorize competition as illegal in order to justify thuggery by the state

copyright, trademarks, slander, libel, used to prevent anyone from so much as referring to a company’s products

contract systems that enable major corps to bind smaller players to exclusivity deals, and to control every major information and distribution medium with cartel-style deals that prohibit new entry into the market

it’s unfortunate that people who want to stop oppressive mega corporations so often fail to see the problem and champion the right of the state to intervene in the market, which plays into corporate hands because it’s exactly the tool that the corps are easily perverting to do their dirty work

corporations need people to believe in a totalitarian government that has the unquestionable authority to do whatever it pleases with no limitations, including getting involved in otherwise peaceful and passive affairs in order to enforce a “greater good”

the corps have no trouble perverting an invasive government, but they can be only as oppressive as a country’s constitution and aversion to state intervention will allow

we need to put an end to state intervention in the market if we want to castrate the corporations

  15. You fucking morons. How many did Batista kill before he was overthrown by Guevara? Ignorant, sit-at-home, do-fuck-all, shit-talking motherfuckers.

  16. Guevara did not overthrow anybody. Castro overthrew a democratic government that succeeded Batista.

  17. very very well put mohod….could not have said it better myself
the world is full of ignorant, niave people and mr david davis (so good he named himself twice ?) seems to have nominated himself as their captain !

  18. did someone ask for a MAO movie? Not sure about historical depiction, but I can assure the leaders of China will not be happy with what we have planned. ROFL As a serious aside: I have lived in Mexico spending significant time with Mayan villages as part of an aid effort after Wilma. The poverty even today is mind boggling, and the corruption is an intrinsic fabric. I see no change on the horizon, and with the financial crisis its only strengthening the corrupt. Let’s see how they deal with the ever stronger cartels, as the U.S. does nothing of merit in response. I do not agree with Che’s methods of armed struggle, but I do understand the deep seated anger of latin Americans towards the ruling class.

  19. Che Guevara might have been a murderer, but it was war (yes I know he was one of the people who started the revolution). A revolution is always a result of misery of the people and Che Guevara’s intensions were good. He really wanted to make things better but he tried it the wrong way.

Che Guevara was much more than a socialist and a marxist. He was a man of principle and a man of freedom (and a doctor before he became a revolutionist). He was a big hero of the Cuban revolution and the Cuban people loved him.

Things are rarely that black and white. Pretty much everything depends on the way you look at things. Do some research before you go making wild accusations and accept the fact that not everyone thinks and feels like you. You’re in no position to pass judgement. Think for yourself and form your own opinions about things.

Ps: Don’t come complaining that I’m some kind of communist or socialist because I’m not. I’m a sworn liberalist and capitalist and I respect Che Guevara for the man he was, not the political thoughts he had. His life was a truly revolutionary one and I would wear a Che Guevara shirt with pride.

  20. Che Guevara’s ‘intentions were good’! What a stupid statement.

Che Guevara was a sociopathic murderer. If anybody loved him it was because of lying propaganda. Anyone who would ‘wear a Che Guevarra’ T shirt with pride is not a Liberatarian, he is a trolling, fake, moron.

  21. to “just passing by”:

rothbard goes seriously awry in that ode to che guevara. it’s a mistake to think the enemy of my enemy is somehow my friend. for libertarians it’s more likely that the enemy of my enemy is just another enemy. i wonder whether he’d write the same article today. i hope not.
