It is sad, and a bit unfortunate, that there are now fewer and fewer people who either believe, or want to say, that there is such a thing as an absolute scale of goodness or evil.
It is not shameful to believe, and to believe it strongly enough to defend the same, that the values and achievements and liberal civilisation of the Classical liberal West indeed _are_ better than all other competitors for the honour of showing The World How To Live.
It is distressing that there are not more chaps like this strange-looking Dutchman, who reminds me of one of my maths teachers in the 1960s.
He’s right. He’s totally right. The trouble is, I don’t know exactly what to do about it.
Steven Northwood, there is plenty to do about it.
Simple rule of thumb – if the enemy class or the islamists want something then work for the opposite. You could do worse than get baptised as a political act.
More fundamentally, see the big picture! The islamists are only a problem in western societies, because of the triumph of the enemy class. Two generations ago every western country would have been able to deal with the problem in an intelligent way.
What is necessary is to challenge the ideological basis of the enemy class in every way and at every opportunity. Argue for freedom and against equal opportunities and against human rights.
Think in both ideological and political terms; Neither is sufficient by itself. We need to start working towards a future rainbow coalition of those who the enemy class hate. (Both UKIP and LPUK will most likely fail, because neither has taken that essential point on board.)
Oh, and enjoy attacking the enemy class. Their corruption, hypocracy, cynicism, dishonesty, destructiveness and treachery make them such a great target. In fact, very frequently their behaviour leaves an open goal, which the so-called “opposition” studiously avoid scoring in.
Wilders has a point and should be allowed to articulate it and argue his corner. The Koran is full of kill Jews and infidels. The Talmud is also pretty frank re gentiles.
Frankly I think we have a fifth column. You may have moderate muslims but Islam iself is not moderate.

All “revealed religions” have problems.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha… That’s funny.
The demoralised, decadent, atomized, decaying West… “Better than all other competitors”.
Go fuck yourself, sir.
Thank you for that constructive suggestion.
Western Civilization — with all its faults self-critical and eager to improve — is the finest civilization the world has ever seen.
It would be amusing to see your attempts at naming a better advanced civilization.

Otto:
It was a cause of Thatcher’s downfall, that she followed precisely the rule of thumb that you suggest. She looked at what “the socialists” wanted, then did the opposite. This sort of thinking is always a road to ruin, because it allows the adversary to dictate the direction of events, and causes independent thinking to atrophy. We should aim for a society where individuals can do as they want to with their own lives, while respecting the rights of others to follow their own star(s). There are very few truly harmless religions; and most religions are enmeshed in error by the concept of an anthropomorphic “G*d”, with all the human failings except for remorse. Revealed religions are almost always capable of joining up the dots which make them up in almost any manner whatsoever.
You may find it fruitful to differentiate Islam from Mohammedanism. Islamic monotheism can be very beautiful. I find it impossible to believe that G*d would communicate with us through the means of an angel whispering in the ear of an illiterate man, who speaks the message _in an Arabic dialect to followers who transcribe them onto leaves, bark, stones and fragments of parchment, to be jumbled together and contested in different collections.
The True Original Koran (the “Reference copy”) is said to be engraved on marble slabs in Paradise.
Surely an omnipotent G*d could cause cliffs of granite to appear around the World, inscribed with the One True Word, in all the languages of the World? Why settle for anything less? And then there are the other Worlds in this our Infinite Universe made for us all by G*d? Are they not to learn of the Word?
