(2) The Germans have themselves to blame partly, because in 1933 the failed-to-not-elect a clever, wicked and nasty psychotic-vegetarian-non-smoking-GramscoFabian-Lenin-admirer, who they could see would lead them to destruction but could not fail to elect because of their own emotional responses to such a mountebank, and they paid the costs later.
Perhaps it’s actually the fault of the BBC programme-researchers, who are most probably charged covertly with the task of getting Top Gear off the air: for racism, homophobia, xenophobia, lorry-driver-prostitutophobia and the like. They can’t do it for any other reason since it makes them so much money…..

Yes, well, as you have commented: people do not have a “right” not to be offended. Really is a case of “grow up” to the supposed victims.
But he’d be more convincing as a free spirit if he went for some baddies other than PC ones. Everyone can safely hate a Nazi. Now.
Personally I think the main reason Top Gear is so popular is that it’s about the only thing left on the BBC that doesn’t follow a left-wing agenda.
So I suspect the BBC are hoping for some public outrage to find an excuse to get rid. I suspect Clarkson isn’t concerned either way really as I’m sure it’d work just as well on a commercial channel too.
I think it shows the woeful ability with numbers so prevalent in modern Britain. Clearly there are people who think 100 > 6.7 million.
