Update on The Break

Two things to report on my latest novel, The Break:

1. It has now been formally nominated for the Prometheus Award 2015;
2. It has been taken over by my publisher. My own edition will be withdrawn from sale in due course, and replaced with a new edition that has had the benefit for proper copy editing and a cover that I haven’t designed.

In the meantime, you can still buy copies of the Gabb Edition.

  1. I am very pleased to hear that some of the “old style publishers” still recognise good books when they get round to reading them.

    Reading them is the key. It means that, I guess, they have got some bloke or young woman to read it, and they then decided it was good.

    I could have told them that if they’d troubled to phone me earlier, and they’d have saved the wages.

  2. I like your cover as it is. It says things about your novel which you intended. The only problem is it didn’t have any desperate skeletons in it, writhing in their hungry death agonies on the platforms. Get your publisher to feature these on the platforms and (partial skeletons only) under the traintracks, on its redisigned cover, in return for paying them ยฃ1,000, and you will clean up on royalties, and they’ll be richer still. Some of them could even be clutching ipads, the screens smashed in their and their friends’ tormented rage.
