Donald Trump is as evil as any other American President. The difference between him and Joe Biden is that he represents a different faction of the American ruling class. Biden was the frontman of the Green and Woke faction, while Trump is the frontman for those who still think cheap energy and basic biological reality have some merit. Both preside over the same Empire of Lies and Blood, their role being to ensure its survival through whatever level of chaos and destruction is necessary.
Trump’s recent comments about Gaza should surprise no one. He is an American President. His function is to preserve American global dominance for a ruling class of the gigantically and dishonestly rich. That means, among other things, keeping Israel well-armed and secure while looking the other way as it flattens Gaza or any other inconvenient territory. His phrasing may be more direct than the usual Washington murmurings about ‘Israel’s right to self-defence,’ but the message is identical. This is an empire. Empires do not care about foreign suffering unless it serves their interests to pretend otherwise.
For those who still hold out hope that Trump might be different, one can only sigh. He was in the White House for four years. What did he achieve? He built no wall. He drained no swamp. He bombed Syria, assassinated foreign leaders, and surrounded himself with every bloodthirsty neoconservative that the deep state could dredge up. He did nothing to halt the rising tide of censorship. If anything, these trends accelerated while he was formally in charge.
Now, as he positions himself for a return, Trump is a known quantity. His every movement is carefully stage-managed by the very people he was supposed to fight. His policies will not restore America’s economy or independence; they will merely shift the distribution of spoils among the oligarchy. Under him, energy prices may be somewhat lower than under Biden. Fewer teenage boys may be castrated by their mothers. But these are minor variations in the greater scheme of things. The empire will still rule. It will still meddle. It will still slaughter.
Dr Gabb was right about Mr Trump. He broke all his promises last time. This time, he is back as the wholly-owned tool of the neoconservatives. He will not fight the ruling class—he is the ruling class, just representing a different faction of it. His loyal supporters, betrayed once already, will cheer for him again, convinced that this time he really means it. And so the cycle will continue, as the Empire of Lies and Blood grinds on, crushing or corrupting all who dare resist it.
