When God decided we should dive, He Gave us Sumbarines

Michael Winning

I can never figure out why people need to do this sort of thing.

Specially in the hyper-dangerous waters that seem to surround Australia (bless it, full of poisonous creatures too) perhaps in a vain attempt by God to keep leftists out (it’s failed.)

At least DEFRA bureaucrats are big enough to see and get caught on my fences, and can’t yet sting me to detha.

  1. Well I can never figure out why a writer in that once most English of newspapers, the Daily Telegraph, had to use that horrid ‘Merkin word “dove” (that’s not the close relative of a pigeon bty) instead of the correct English usage of “dived”.

  2. The sheer danger and the size of the land makes the Australian Outback a great place for fostering individual responsibility.

Out there, you are on your own, you have to make your own decisions and take the consequences. Take whatever stupid risks you want or be as careful as you want. No one to stop you, no one to nag or advise you and no one to bail you out if you get it wrong.

    It’s great.

  3. What C Ingoldby says. The downside in living here is that, as Michael Winning said, the dangerous waters failed to keep the leftists out. The upside is a couple of million square miles of bush to escape to for a while when the bastards get too much for you.
